Mantra Montessori School

The 3 to 6 year old child is undergoing a process of self-construction. The application of the Montessori philosophy and the specifically designed Montessori equipment aids the child’s ability to absorb knowledge and continue this path of self-construction.
The physical space and routines of the classroom are designed to maximise independent learning and exploration. Objects are placed so children can reach what they need without waiting for adult help.

Around the age of three, we begin to see the emergence of consciousness, indicating the beginning of memory and conscious awareness. The child still has a sponge-like mind that absorbs information easily, but now child will consciously seek certain experiences. Child is predisposed toward learning things like order, sequencing, music, numbers, and letter sounds, which will eventually lead to math, reading, and writing skills. The child begins to show a strong desire to be independent, without any adult help. She wants to become the master of her own mind, body, and environment.
